Let each development arrive as if from God's almighty hand.
Instead you laid the warnings plainly in the sun,
In sight if we could only understand,
Until the show's now finally over,
The cycle done, the journey o'er.
Babylon is fallen.
You could hav writen what they wanted when they wouldn't understand,
A simple kiddies' show perhaps, you know, the formulaic kind.
Instead a televisual novel's what you planned,
That touched off something deep within our minds.
So even though the show is over,
It held us close for five long years.
